Yellow waterlilies inspired manicure

This morning I saw some beautiful yellow waterlilies in the pond near my backyard and I immediately found inspiration for my nails-of-the-day.

I used Ciaté Lemon Sherbet ($15 or £9 – PAO 24M – 0.46 fl.oz.) a lovely pastel yellow with creamy finish. I bought it a couple of years ago but it’s still a trendy shade. As the majority of pastel colors, it’s not super-easy to apply, you have to try to spread it as evenly as possible. Here is my trick: apply first a very thin layer and let it dry. I know, it’ll seem horrible but… have faith! Then apply a second generous coat and remember, lesser the strokes better the result, so try to not work too much with the brush! In the photo below you’ll find some alternatives: Mac Near Beth Experience and Maybelline #763 Citrus Collide are actually dupes while nails inc. Notting Hill Carnival is slightly brighter, more similar to a yellow daisy color.

Ciaté is a English brand (you can find the official European website here) but there is also an US website great to avoid import duties.
