DIY Homemade Lip Scrub

July 23, 2014 | 0 Comments

Today I’ m going to show you how to create a lip scrub at home. Super easy recipe but great result!

Did you ever try the Lush Lip Scurb? I did, and it is a really good product but, in my humble opinion, it’s a bit too expensive considering the ingredients.

So, I decided to do it myself and here is my recipe:

  • 3 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp cocoa
  • 2 and ½ tsp jojoba oil

Instead of brown sugar (very common as exfoliator), use regular white sugar because it is composed by finer granules so it will be more gentle on the lips.

The cocoa is optional but, believe me, it adds a really yummy flavor!

In this video I used the Badger Baby Oil that is composed by jojoba and olive oil -great moisturizer for dry lips- and enriched with chamomile and calendula -both known for their lenitive proprieties-.

The video is in Italian but it’s easy to follow because all you have to do is to mix the ingredients together. Then you can store the mixture in a jar at room temperature and use it over the weeks since it won’t expire quickly.

This recipe allows you to create 1.06 oz of product for about $2 that is a pretty good deal compared to the 0.9 oz of a Lush Scrub at $9.95.
Happy Make-up!
